So I kissed the dating life goodbye and exchanged the most profound vows with my absolute best guy! You needed to have been at our wedding! It was everything I wanted and more! Oh scrap that, you need to have experienced the beauty of our journey leading up to marriage! One word comes close – heavenly. Indeed, perfection came and the experience is only close to everything I have heard God tell me over the years regarding how blissful marriage should be.
There is a lot I want to tell you. How I planned our wedding without a planner. How I planned for our beautiful garden wedding in two weeks. How we ended up using our traditional wedding attire at the reception, lol. How I chose the outfits and color of the day. How much it cost to plan a beautiful Nigerian wedding. How I visited our wedding venue for the first time on the wedding day. How to plan your wedding without running into any debt. How we wrote our vows differently but managed to sound alike, lol
How I strolled into a bridal shop, two days to the wedding to look for a wedding gown. How I found the prefect dress for me. The garden wedding experience, pitfalls to avoid. How I picked my reception outfits just less than a week to the wedding, lol. Despite all this, I would like to tell you how it all translated into the most beautiful wedding and why the deadlines seemed short.
Trust me when I say there is surely a lot to unpack and my blog feels like such a safe place to have unhindered expression
WHERE CAN YOU CATCH A GLIMPSE OF OUR WEDDING?
I happen to have worked with a competent photography brand who got us comprehensive coverage of the entire event and also created a five minutes summary that you can be a part of!
The beautiful day started at 5am with an intense makeup session at my hotel while Bobo (Hubby’s everyday name in our home) was enjoying his less intense dress up session at his hotel! How tiring, given that the first ever professional make up I had was for our pre-wedding shoot! I endured for about 3 hours and there comes the photographer and videographer with their team, rolls eyes! The sheer paparazzi and all the stress that came with it. Well, I look at all the video and pictures today and I am glad I managed through it all because at the end of the day, it is the quality of the memories captured forever that you would have to cherish forever! Here is me actually encouraging someone to stay strong through the stress that comes with your big day. Anyways, after the two hour photo session, Bobo joining me in between, I started to itch for the venue. We were running late already, the sun was threatening and our guests were in the garden waiting! Enough already Mr thorough photographer, eyes rolled. Ok guys, the race to the venue eventually began. Through the traffic, through the sun, through the wait for dad to get to the venue and walk me down the aisle, through the appreciated patience of our wonderful guests, look what magic we created!
It is the quality of the memories captured forever that you would have to cherish forever!
